About Sensory Sports LLC

We do sport specific training in numerous organized team sports. We offer parkour and obstacle course training classes like ninja warrior. Our classes are a mix of parkour, calisthenics, and strength training. We have a strong focus on sensory driven motor movement and somatic skills in our classes. As well as teaching the benefits of building a healthy lifestyle through developing good eating habits, and instilling a lifetime love for physical fitness. We instruct our students young and old on the mental aspect of being an athlete, our goal is to have full mind and body connection.

About Me Coach Cloudy

My story

My name is Amaury, I have seven years of experience helping children of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and limitations develop physically and emotionally through behavioral coaching. My focus is using athletic training as a means of nurturing emotional regulation and confidence.

My immigrant parents filled their days with work, and were seldom present in my life. I began playing sports at a young age; by high school I played numerous varsity sports. My coaches filled the gap in mentorship in my life; sports helped me feel like I have direction. Still in high school, injury left me unable to compete in sports for two years. Being deprived of athletics led me to realize the profound role sports had come to play not just in my physical sense of self, but also in my sense of purpose and identity.

Over my professional career, I found two sports in particular to be especially effective in stimulating psychosocial development through athletic training. Parkour is about overcoming obstacles gracefully. Ninja warrior is about meeting challenges in succession. Both parkour and ninja warrior require cardio, balance, and full-body strength. Working for my first gym, I built up a ninja warrior program from four to 300 students. I then started Sensory Sports and partnered with TEMA Therapy Center. My current work focuses on developing emotional regulation, grit, consistency, and organizational skills through improving gross coordination and enhancing sensory integration.

My life and professional experience is a testament to the effectiveness of physical activity in regulating  the emotional self. The object of my work is to use athletic play and competition to achieve a healthy emotional balance.

Irina Volynsky, PhD

"I 'am a child and adult psychologist and a director of a multilingual clinic that for a decade has been providing mental health services in NJ for families and individuals.  It is my great honor to speak about Amaury as a coach and as a person. I got to know Amaury through him coaching my own two children in their competitive Ninja warrior careers. Since such raw talent and ability to promote a child's development is a truly rare occurrence, I started to refer my patients to him for individual and group training and classes. Amaury has been nothing short of a miracle for so many children, especially during the pandemic times when the options for physical training and creating balanced lives were extremely limited while children’s emotional well-being was hard to maintain and stimulate.
Amaury is extraordinarily attentive and perceptive of his clients’ needs and abilities. He understands the interplay between physical, emotional, and intellectual development, and through his work he promotes each of those aspects. He is equally efficient with young and timid clients who need a lot of encouragement and reassurance to try new things and with some of the most rambunctious and occasionally hard to handle pre-teens and teenagers where structure, consistency, and constant challenge are needed. I observed Amaury’s work with physically gifted children to promote their competitive careers and with physically and behaviorally challenged children where he created and implemented a set of therapeutic interventions. In both of those situations, and with everyone in-between, Amaury is very sensitive to the children’s needs, he is patient yet demanding, and incredibly respectful to the children. He also builds a truly great rapport with parents, which creates for a good working alliance with a family as a whole. Last but not least, Amaury somehow manages to address the moral part of life with the children when it comes to staying true to their word, respecting others, and giving their best in everything they do. I have no clue how he does it while swinging from a bar or climbing obstacles but he does!
As talent, great work ethic, and strong moral principles go, Amaury is a person you want your children to be around and to be taught by."
